About

Carly Stephenson Wooten

Carly works as a freelance Public Relations consultant, combining her love of strategic storytelling with the chance to share life-changing stories with general and medical media. With over a decade of experience in journalism and public relations, she finds innovative ways to write multimedia stories, coordinates media opportunities, plans social media content and more.

Three years in a row, the Charlotte chapter of the Public Relations Society of America has recognized Carly's brand journalism campaigns, awarding her with Queen City Public Relations Crown Awards for national public relations digital and social media campaigns.

Her career started in television news, where she moved across state lines as a producer, anchor and reporter. Carly wrote, shot and edited television news pieces that have appeared in local markets and nationally in New York City. Of all the stories she’s worked on, those that remain closest to her heart involve people defying the odds. Her passion for telling meaningful stories with a health angle led to a career change into health care public relations.  She is also passionate about supporting the mission of Hospitality House of Charlotte, Charlotte, where she serves as a volunteer and former board member.

Carly and her husband enjoy spending time with their daughter and son. When March Madness comes around, Carly roots for the Tar Heels.
